Anyone done the Dolphin Encounter & Tabyana Beach Day...

Has anyone done the Dolphin Encounter with Tabyana Beach? I am on the Valor on April 19, 08 and this combo sounds like a winner. I was also wonder how much I should expect to pay if I book through Carnival. Can you book this though an independed vendor or do you have to go through Carnival. Thanks for the info, can't wait to go!

We did this excursion combo back in July -- it was absolutely my favorite! Pull up www.anthonyskeyresort.com -- that is the location for the dolphin encounter. Breathtaking place and would love to return there for an entire week someday. The time in the water with the dolphins is limited but well worth it. Our dolphin was Gracie, she was 18 yrs. old and I was literally overwhelmed with being able to get so close, touch, watch and take it all in! Be sure to bring your camera as they let you take pictures at the end. There are professional photographers there too and they will pull up their photos in the gift shop when you're finished and it was pretty reasonable but we did not buy any. Tabyana Beach was beautiful -- somewhat crowded as many cruise passengers went there to spend the whole day. They had free, delicious lemonade and also food in a snack area (chicken, ribs and I think hot dogs) but SO expensive. There is a resort right there which looked so nice but we did not check it out up close. We spent most of our time in the water, just relaxing as the water was totally calm - no waves. There is a coral reef out past the wading area and you can rent a kayak to go to that area. There were lifeguards too. The only thing I did not like was the old school buses they used to take us back to the ship -- we were there in July and it was very hot, no a/c and the seats were so close and high I got claustrophobic (sp?) and had to stand up. But other than that, it was worth every penny and will be a day my family will always remember!

I hope the situation in Roatan will settle down soon so Carnival can return to its port. Was my absolute favorite place!
