We are considering going on a family holiday with 20 people in 6 families......any recommendations of where to stay with a beach and kids so we can all stay at same place or a couple houses?

thanks

Lots of choices among Ambergris Caye, Caye Caulker, or Placencia. My recommendation would be Caye Caulker, somewhere like the Costa Maya Cabins or Auxillou Suites. Then take the water taxi to Belize City one day with the entire family and do one of the most exciting tours ever - cave tubing. 45 minutes by covered, large speedboat from Caye Caulker to the city, through the islands, and below the barrier reef - beautiful run, fairly calm water. You might want to contact Major Tom at info and he might be able to set up the entire holiday for you. Major Tom knows just about everyone and everything happending in Belize - went with him on a few tours. Enjoy your vacation. BTW, Caye Caulker would be the best choice to properly budget.

Since you posted under Ambergris, I'm guessing you've decided you want to be there. The island is almost 25 miles long, first decide if you would prefer the relative seclusion of the north, would need to take water taxis back and forth to town. Or right in town, busy, but easy access to food and drink. Or south of town, also fairly quiet, but regular cabs or golf carts make getting into town quick and easy.

to get some ideas.

Personally, I'd stay south, Xanadu, Banyan Bay, Banana Beach for resort type places. There are also several condo complexes, Miramar, Pelican Reef to name a couple. Also several houses for rent.
