We would like to have our wedding in Ambergris next May/June - has anyone had/been to a wedding in AC? We have about 25 guests and a few children and want to make it a casual but nice event for everyone. We've looked at Victoria House but wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.

VH is a great choice, about the best inn on the island. You'll be pleased with everything there. Other hotels and condo-hotels closeby in walking distance where guests who don't want to spend as much $ on rooms or require more space with kitchens can stay. There are many other great options on Ambergris and in other beach areas, like Placencia and Hopkins.

I highly recommend Victoria House for a destination wedding - mostly because that's where I got married! The people there were so great in helping me plan the wedding from Chicago. I never went down to the property before the wedding and everything was perfect. Feel free to contact me if have any questions at all - kmorrell32@hotmail.com. One thing (this may have changed as I got married in April 2006), but if you have a wedding there, all of your guests have to stay there. Just wanted to clarify that because of the other post.




My wedding had 35 people - we rented the 3 houses and some other rooms. But having the big house was nice because it had a kitchen, we had a party out by the pool one night (catered by VH) and we had our reception and dinner out in front of the house by the beach. The houses are good for kids.
